New World's Steam Reviews are now Generally Positive
As the dust has settled on Amazon Games' New World, people's true feelings about the new PC game are coming out. Another metric that can be used to measure that opinion is New World's Steam reviews have shifted from mixed to 'Mostly Positive'.
A few more recent reviews praise the PvP and the Runescape-like aspect of the crafting and gathering loop. Some even compare New World to the early days of World of Warcraft. One reviewer claimed that it's the most immersive MMO she's ever played. "Very Classic WoW with OSRS capabilities. Level 29 as of 71 hours. There is a lot of drama in chat because the game is somewhat competitive, however PvP can be very enjoyable. Really cool map and sound design. Some graphical/audio bugs occasionally. For the vanilla version of Amazon's most popular MMO, this is a good game. But it could be much better in the future."
New World isn't entirely out of the woods yet however. Some players are complaining about a dull story, a dull levelling experience and a world that lacks enthusiasm and soul. One reviewer said that "New World" offers some interesting ideas, but overall feels shallowly and soulless (yet somehow I'm still playing).
New World is still attracting a lot of Steam players even though it has been released just two weeks ago. According to SteamDB New World has reached the highest ever concurrent level of 913,634 players just nine days ago, and is climbing to the heights of 600,000. concurrents per 24-hour.
Naturally, that has resulted in problems with servers. Amazon has added additional server transfers to help alleviate the issue. You'll get one free transfer to the server this week to connect you with your friends in the event that you have to go to another region to play. Remember, however that New World's server transfers will not let you change regions in the end. RUNESCAPE Many games like New World thrive better when played with your friends. It's an excellent way to find out the direction that things take.
We looked at the MMORPG and shared similar thoughts. In our New World review, we noticed that its "stellar crafting experience and surprisingly smooth combat, but they aren't enough to overcome the flaws in New World's boring and difficult quest design".
